Marco Renai To all who competed in the Gold Coast Marathon last month congratulations, special mention goes to Marathon man Joe Bleakley and his 42.2km run. This has inspired the Augustedition how am i feeling now. To date my toes are still killing me my legs are stiff and at any moment they feel like they are about to collapse and i probably won't wear shoes till next week. From 1km -15km i was the king talking to all who would listen waving at the on lookers and thinking to my myself what a great day for a run. 15Km turn around point 1/3 done 2 to go feeling like in control but a little tight . 21 km knees starting to hurt and finding it very difficult to stomach gel shots or to much water in case of a stich. I start to get in the zone focus on technique ,core on ,gluts tight, flick heals 30 km mark, yes the hard part is done now i only have a 12 km run home no porbs i have just run 30km. For all those who know better 33km big trouble both knees throbing gut twisted and little toes have both been caught in a mouse trap. 34 km gels get the better of me thank god the labrador bp toilets are not locked, see amber tell her i need the honey sandwich. I should have just asked for some dry sayos, 36 feet killing walking take the insoles out of my shoes ,tell joe to leave me in my own fight with the marathon demons, got a better thought i will take my shoes off run on the grass, 38km head to toe is now throbing shoes need to go back on, if cliffy young can i can bring back the king, why are all the music men packed up do they not realize it is the blokes at the end that need them the most, 40km only 2 to go hear the crowd and the music team up with a japanese runner like we have just fort the war together and get ready for the finish 42km who was the idiot who made this race 42.2km the last 200 mtrs in my mind i was gezel like to the on looker it was reminisint of marty bella when he got smashed got up and played the ball the wrong way. Finished no smiling just crying still can not summerize the entire day but have a great photo of my toe.
