Hey Team At the start of every year most of us will set some goals whether it be a fitness goal or a wealth goal or maybe something involving your family. What I have noticed over the years is that the goals that we steadfastly set at the beginning of each year are often falling to the wayside after only a few weeks.A technique that has helped me stick to achieving my goals is using visual aids alongside my clearly written goals. The pictures have to tell you why you are doing it,what you are wanting to achieve and how you will feel when you achieve your goal. I will use an example with one of my long term goals which is to hike the 96km Kokoda Track with my father and 2 brothers. This is special to me as my grandfather fought in PNG and I want to see a little of what he had to go through. How I stay focused on making money and saving so I can achieve this goal is by using images of my Dad and 2 brothers and I all together smiling and embraced,a picture of the Kokoda track with diggers on it and a photo of me smiling on one of our Mt Warning climbs. The pictures that I have compiled for this goal remind me why I have to work hard because its showing me the result.I have a goal folder that I keep all my goals in and I pull it out every morning to look over to keep me motivated and stimulated to achieve all my short and long term goals in all aspects of my life. This is what works for me ,you might like to take images along with your clearly written goals to your workplace or you might want to stick them on your fridge whatever works for you. Why don’t you give it a try if you find that your coming unstuck and let me know how you go. Cheers Scotty
