Aloha my friends!! Well i had an awesome trip away as some of you have probably already heard. Two weeks in Hawaii is pretty special ,it was the best trip ive been on .We stayed in Kona on the big island of Hawaii and it is in my opinion the best destination for a get away. The snorkelling is unbelievable as ther is no need to get in a boat and travel out to a reef its all right there in front of you just step off the beach and say hello to turtles, dolphins, fish, rays and beautiful coral. Our holiday pretty much revolved around the ocean whether we were snorkelling ,surfing, kayaking, swimming, stand up paddle surfing or walking along the coastline.
On returning back to Australia i wanted to continue exercising in and around the ocean and luckily the weather has been very warm so ive taken on 2 of my holiday activities and made them part of my weekly workout regime.Stand Up Paddle surfing is where you are standing on a surfboard and you have a paddle to propell yourself through the water .The body from head to toe has to work over time to stabilise itself to remain upright then to actually paddle you are using strength in your back ,core and legs ,Whoa what a workout!.I highly recommend this sport to everyone ,you dont have to be a surfer or super strong its about using your body and balance to glide around the water.I am offering lessons which start off in a stillwater environment so its perfect for beginners (no waves).I also started Outrigger Canoeing which has been a good substitution for running and boxing as the stress fracture in my foot is still sore. The variety of introducing new activities into my weekly workouts has been great for me and i would also like to suggest to you all to maybe think about something new that you can try this spring whether it be outrigging, paddling, triathlons, swimming, surfing or kayaking go and challenge yourself ,because as ive found the rewards are great.
